JOANNA BOWRING
Joanna studied Textile Design at Middlesex and RCA, where she was awarded the Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. She worked with International design consultancies, set up and still contributes to the British Textile Colour Group since 1976 (which still represents the UK at Intercolor, the international colour congress), joined Courtaulds Textiles, a major sponsor to Texprint, and became Design Director. In 1999 she set up her own design consultancy working with companies across the world, and became Creative Director of Texprint in 2000 until joining Marks & Spencer in Central Design; after retiring in 2007, she joined Texprint as Sponsorship Director. She has been External Examiner for Textile Design (Hons) degree courses, including the Royal College of Art, Chelsea, Winchester, Derby, Central St Martins and Glasgow.

CLARE JOHNSTON
Clare is a Textile Designer and Colour consultant for Fashion and Interiors. Prior to her appointments as Head of Textiles at RCA from 2000 -2015 and as Research Fellow 2015-2019,she was Head of Design at Liberty of London and Senior Designer at Marks and Spencer. Clare is Professor Emeritus of Textiles at the RCA and has worked with International Design Institutions including the Swedish School of Textiles and Hong Kong Design Institute as a visiting academic and advisor. After stepping down as Head of Textiles at the RCA she started a small business as a Designer/Maker of exclusive Kimonos. She continues to be a contributing member of the British Textile Colour Group and is the External Examiner for Glasgow School of Art Textile BA.

JEREMY SOMERS
Jeremy is a designer with nearly 40 years experience in the textile industry. After graduating from Brighton in 1985 he worked as a textile stylist in Austria for FM Rhomberg and in Switzerland for Jakob Schlaepfer, 2 leading textile manufacturers in Europe, before becoming a freelance print designer and sales person at Whiston & Wright designing prints for clients across the globe. In 1995 together with partner Dietmar Voegel he founded the London based Circleline Design Studio, one of the worlds most innovative textile design studios servicing a global market. In 2022 he co-founded Circleline Austria producing bespoke bedlinen & accessories. He has always believed in passing on the knowledge from his experience and creative process to the next genration of designers. He’s worked as visiting lecturer at numerous UK colleges and universities including Bath Spa University, Central St Martins, UEL & Westdean College. His philosophy is to break the rules of design. With his forward thinking approach Circleline has been a major contributor to Textile View Magazine. In 1994 he started volunteering as interviewing panellist for Texprint and in 2015 became a Texprint council member.

KATIE GREENYER
Katie is a creative mind, business leader and producer of innovative design. She believes passionately in the value of design education and is an ambassador for creative opportunity and new design talent. She currently holds the position of World President of the Textile Institute, is a Cordwainer liveryman and a mentor for Graduate Fashion Week. Graduating in 1989 with a BA in Fine Art Printed Textiles at Liverpool School of Art, she went on to produce work for some of the most formative names in fashion, from luxury brands (Vivienne Westwood, Benny Ong, Paul Costelloe and Christian Lacroix) to high street (Next, Jigsaw, Dr Martens and French Connection). Her first steps into creative design for retail were taken with Red or Dead; the cult fashion footwear brand acquired by The Pentland Group in 1996. Now, as Creative Talent & Network Director at Pentland Brands, she continues to manage the creative direction of Red or Dead, while leading a global design team that generates campaigns for some of the world’s best-loved sports, fashion and outdoor brands (Speedo, Canterbury, Berghaus, Ellesse, Kickers, Mitre, Boxfresh, KangaROOs and Lacoste to name a few).

GILL GLEDHILL
Gill is a specialist in communications and marketing for the textiles and fashion industry. Born in the Caribbean, she’s an Anglo-American European Londoner. She studied textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Central St Martins and went on to do post-grad journalism and began writing about the fashion, jewellery and luxury goods markets. Gill established GGHQ Fashion Intelligence 20 years ago with a client roster of government bodies, international trade shows and federations. She was a long-standing member of the Texprint/TexSelect advisory committee. Since learning how to construct fabric, Gill has had a deep-rooted interest in and understanding of responsible production; how and from what we make textiles with which we surround ourselves and the impact they have on our health and the environment. Gill is a keen skier, through-hiker and yogi and maker of award-winning marmalade.

YUEN-WEI CHEW
Yuen-Wei is a career credit analyst. Yuen grew up in Singapore, Sydney, Switzerland, went to boarding school in the UK, and university in Sydney, where he studied History, with French as a minor. He was hired into the graduate training programme for the former Chemical Bank (JP Morgan Chase) and was one of the last bankers to benefit from a one-year training programme in credit analysis (lending to mid-sized companies). He worked for Chemical in New York and Sydney before moving to London, working for Lehman Bros and later, Credit Suisse in similar roles, and at fund manager, Gordian Knot, where he was Head of Credit Research. Since then, Yuen has trained bankers in all aspects and levels of Credit Analysis and esoteric topics such as Securitisations and Covered Bonds. It is little known that in the 90’s he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Acting from East 15 Acting School.
